COLONIAL LIFE RESOURCES

Blackbeard: This is an activity that students will do after reading about Blackbeard with 4 critical thinking tasks.

European Exploration Unit: In this unit, students establish an understanding of the events and issues surrounding European Exploration and Colonization, including the motives for exploration and the establishment of new American colonies. Students analyze the positive and negative effects of the Colombian Exchange from multiple perspectives. Students identify and analyze how environmental and human factors accounted for differences in cultures and economies in various colonies. Students examine the problems that NC faced during colonization that caused the colony to grow slowly.

Colonial America Research Project: Students research a colony and how to live and survive in the 18th century. Students find a colonial job, figure out where their family will live, what foods to eat, and what to do for fun!  The project includes websites and questions about each colony and colonial jobs.

13 Colonies Quiz: This is a 10 question multiple choice quiz on the 13 colonies. 2 of the 10 questions relates specifically to North Carolina.

Slavery:  Think Tac Toe that provides 9 differentiated activities for students to complete while studying Slavery. Students should at least choose 3 activities.
